Five Year 6 children (and their teacher) from Glenfrome Primary School in Eastville have passed the rigorous selection process and have been selected to take part in the CBBC show Top Class.

The children had to complete an application, answer some tricky questions, and even have a skype interview. They found out they were on the show during SATs week! The children are being flown to Glasgow for the filming on Tuesday 26 th May. The show is a children’s version of University Challenge. Tomos, Sumeya, Ridwan, Jenkin and Noah are very excited and quite nervous!!

Head teacher Inger O’Callaghan said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for our children. We are so delighted they have got through to the filming. They are a very talented bunch and we wish them luck! They will undoubtedly enjoy the whole experience even the journey as most of the children have never been on a plane before!’

The team were entered by Gareth Grimwood, a parent who is the Year 6 Learning Support Assistant, and will be accompanied by their teacher Jess Rosser.
