We have received reports of arson in the Lockleaze area. Arson is the act of deliberately setting fire to property including buildings and vehicles. This is a very serious crime - anyone found guilty of arson-related behaviour could face a jail sentence of up to ten years and if the fire damage endangers life, there is also a further offence. This has been heightened recently due to the hot, dry weather we are experiencing. If the incident is happening now – phone 999 or if you have any information please report it to us on 101.
Good news! A male who had been targeting vulnerable victims in the Horfield / Lockleaze area has just been sentenced to three years and one month in prison. He
was arrested for a distraction burglary. He would intimidate elderly ladies and steal anything that he could sell for drug money. If you witness any suspicious activity PLEASE telephone 101/999. You are our eyes and ears – please do not think that you are wasting police time. We need your help and you may have the missing piece to our jigsaw puzzle.
A cannabis factory was located in Horfield when a drugs warrant was executed recently. Plants to the value of £180k were seized together with equipment used for
growing them. This was achieved with your help. Please report any drug activity on 101, on-line or anonymously through Crimestoppers. You may think we take our time, you may think that we don’t do anything with your reports and you may think that we don’t care. Yes, we do take time to plan and bring resources together; yes, we do take every report seriously and we are working to secure that evidence to put in front of the judge who will grant that warrant; and yes, we do care and we will act on your information but it takes time to achieve the best results.
