On Friday 7 th December Filton Avenue Primary School held their annual ‘Our Heritage’ night. This event celebrates the diversity of the pupils and the community that makes up the school.

The evening included an exhibition of work on the theme of heritage, their school choir, talent show winners, a fashion show parade of traditional clothing and a variety of cultural performances.

They also celebrated with a food festival, where families provided hot and cold food from around the world. The whole evening was a huge success with a massive community turn out and lots of amazing performances from both Orchard Campus and Lockleaze Road. They had some great feedback with the community regarding the night as “Amazing! A great way to get everyone together!” and “A lovely evening, nice to see different cultures in one place, well done.”

The school say, “As a school we are proud and committed to celebrating the diversity of our community. This term the curriculum was focussed on the pupils learning about our whole school theme of heritage and community. We would like to thank all parents and carers that contributed to the night and all our pupils for their fantastic performances and hard work across this first term”.
