The Love Lockleaze Festival which was held in late July in Gainsborough Square was a roaring success. The excellent turn-out who enjoyed the fine weather were treated to visits from At Bristol and Bristol Zoo, a varied display of stalls which included a wide variety of food and drink, live music on the stage, and face painting. You could even pedal your way to a smoothie with our Neighbourhood Partnership at Buzz’s café.

The Festival which was first put on in 1987 was resurrected two years ago to celebrate the opening of the Lockleaze Hub and has become a regular part of life in Lockleaze once again. St Mary’s Church had a fascinating display of all the Festival Programmes over the years.

The success of the day was a great team effort all superbly co-ordinated by Festival Co-Ordinator Beth Dobson. Beth was seconded from her role at Boing! to enable her to have the time to put the Festival together and to recruit the army of volunteers.
