Ofsted report pupils at Stoke Park Primary have "the best possible outcomes"
Stoke Park Primary is celebrating another successful Ofsted report following their recent inspection in March.
Stoke Park Primary is celebrating another successful Ofsted report following their recent inspection in March. The HMI (Her Majesty’s Inspector), Lorna Brackstone, who carried out the inspection stated that the school provides a ‘very well-balanced education’ for its pupils. Her inspection found that ‘not only do pupils develop their academic skills well’ but weekly lessons in activities such as dance, drama and gymnastics allow children’s talents to ‘excel’ and ‘to grow in confidence and self-esteem’. As one parent explained to her, ‘The opportunities and extra activities this school provides are truly amazing.’
The HMI also highlighted the effectiveness of the school staff commenting, ‘Staff work extremely well as a team to ensure that pupils have the best possible outcomes’. Headteacher, Gareth Simons commented, ‘The school has developed a great curriculum and it is particularly pleasing to see children and staff being given the credit they deserve for the great progress that the pupils make.’
Local Councillor, Gill Kirk, who is also a governor at the school commented, ‘Since becoming a school governor I have been extremely impressed by the ethos of the school, the excellent standards of behaviour and positive engagement of the children in all aspects of their learning. As well as achieving academically, I think the children benefit hugely from the broader curriculum on offer and opportunities to learn dance, drama and gymnastics from specialised teachers. This has led to the school participating with great success in city-wide cultural events such as a production at the Bristol Old Vic theatre and the Gala Stages dance competition at the Colston Hall.’
Reflecting on the inspection, Bob Smith, Chair of Governors remarked, ‘I am extremely proud of the hard work pupils, parents, staff and governors have put in to make this school a great place for children to grow and flourish’.
