Volunteering vacancies in our area
Every few months we publish a list of the volunteering vacancies in our area. As it is the start of a brand new year we thought now would be a good time to repeat the exercise.
The organisations listed below depend on volunteers to be able to deliver the services they provide. If you haven’t volunteered before why not give it a go, you could learn new skills, meet new people, enhance your CV and maybe even keep that new year’s resolution!
Manor Farm Community Hub
Manor Farm Community Hub currently has vacancies for 2 or 3 new core group committee members who would be able to be active members of the group, helping with some of the admin and organisational tasks (such as website design and population, leaflet production and distribution, helping to organise events and implement projects – sharing this with committee members already in post) , and attending meetings held every month – 6 weeks
Projects we are currently working on are the design and fitting out of the new community facility as part of the housing development on the site of the former St Peters EPH on Bishopthorpe Road, Operation Wild-It where we are working with Horfield School to plant new flowering shrubs and bushes and flowers in the Maskelyne Avenue Green Space and also Manor Farm Window Wanderland at the beginning of March 2019
North Bristol Advice Centre.
North Bristol Advice Centre are keen to recruit someone to join their Tuesday morning Drop-in team from January. If you have some experience of welfare benefits issues and working or volunteering with people one to one AND would be happy to go through a benefit check or help clients through the on-line application process for Universal Credit we would love to hear from you. We offer regular slots for those wanting this type of support and an increasing number of people are getting in touch for help. We can offer you the opportunity to work as part of a small, friendly team offering a valuable role to people within our local community.
